Men and women have certain internal organs which are very much different. Menstruation disorders

Menstruation cycle is the monthly series of changes occurring in the female body. It is actually the preparation that the body undergoes for pregnancy. The lining of the uterus is shed in case the egg is not fertilized after ovulation. This occurs every month till the woman gets pregnant. Lots of hormones are involved in this process and any imbalance in the level of hormones disturbs the menstrual cycle. In general, the menstrual cycle becomes irregular during pregnancy or when the woman is breast feeding her baby. Polycystic ovary syndrome, premature ovarian failure, inflammatory disease in pelvis and fibroids in uterus can also make the cycle irregular. Too much or too less menstrual bleeding, pain in the lower abdomen and irregular cycle are some of the common symptoms of the menstrual cycle disorder.

Menopause

The absence of menstrual periods for at least 12 months is known as menopause. Menopause is the time when the ovaries stop working and this means the woman can no longer become pregnant. Symptoms of menopause vary greatly, but irregular vaginal bleeding, hot flashes and excessive sweating at night along with certain vaginal, urinal and emotional symptoms are common. This condition starts as the ovaries stop producing eggs.

Low milk production

Being mammals, we produce milk to feed our babies. Production of milk is an amazing process and is complicated too. There are certain factors that hamper the normal milk production process and it happens that the female body is unable to produce enough milk to feed the baby. Low milk supply is a common breastfeeding problem and is caused due to the improper shape of the breast or nipples, if the mother is suffering from insulin dependent diabetes, extremely obese or consumes oral contraceptive pills.

Ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy is the health condition in which the fertilized egg stays in the fallopian tube instead of the uterus. Light bleeding from the vagina, vomiting with pain, pain in lower abdomen, sharp cramps in abdomen, dizziness along with pain in neck and shoulder are some of the common symptoms of ectopic pregnancy. Women with history of ectopic pregnancy in family, congenital abnormality, use of fertility drugs and current use of intrauterine devices can cause ectopic pregnancy.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is the disorder in which the tissues lining the uterus start growing outside. Pain in pelvic area during the menstrual period, excessive bleeding, pain during intercourse and infertility are some common symptoms. Exact cause of endometriosis is not yet known, but retrograde menstruation, growth of embryonic cell, immune system disorder and surgical scar implantation are thought to be some of the triggers.
