Bad breath

Majority of the world population suffer from bad breath. It is not disease in itself but is the result of other disorders. Bad breath can be caused by gum and stomach problems too. But teeth problems are considered to be the major cause of bad breath. Damaged teeth with holes are the breeding ground of various types of germs which cause the bad breath. Tooth decay

Decay in the tooth enamel is the most common problem that affects every person in their life. It is nothing but the destruction of the tooth enamel, i.e., the hard covering of the tooth. Enamel is the hardest substance in the human body, but it is highly sensitive to acids. An acid is produced in the mouth as some bacteria reacts with the sticky substance called plaque.  The plaque is formed from the remains of food in the mouth. This acid corrodes the enamel, creating a hole. This hole widens and deepens and finally destroys the tooth. The symptoms are a black coloured spot that develops in pores and excessive pain.

Tooth sensitivity

Tooth sensitivity is the experience of pain and discomfort in the teeth while consuming sweets and hot or cold foods. It is caused as the nerves inside the tooth root become highly reactive to heat or cold. Feeling sharp tingling while consuming these types of foods is the main symptom.

Tooth aches

Pain in the tooth is the dental problem that is experienced by every single person at certain time of their life. The pain is caused by development of cavities that deepens and exposes the dental nerves. Mild pain, mainly after consuming food is the main symptom.

Anodontia and hypodontia

These are congenital dental disorders. In case of anodontia, the milk teeth appears normally, but some of the permanent teeth remain absent as they do not develop at all. Hypodontia is the disorder that alters the bone development of the upper as well as lower jaws and gives rise to spacing problems. This is more common in males as compared to females.

Amelogenesis and Dentinogenesis Imperfectia

It is the inherited teeth disorder that results in defective formation of the enamel. Amelogenesis causes problems in enamel hardening while Dentinigenesis is the genetic disorder that causes defective formation of dentine.

Supernumerary teeth

The extra permanent teeth are those teeth which may or may not come out of the gum. Most of these teeth are abnormally shaped. Heredity is considered to be the major cause of this teeth disorder.

Malocclusion

Malocclusion is the alignment disorder of teeth. It is also known as bad bite. It is caused by overcrowded, missing or extra teeth in the jaws. It is inherited genetically.
